Father's Day: Gran Turismo 4
So the gaming weekend returns to the place it all started, the parent's place. Actually since they moved it's not the same at all, but you get the idea.

Gran Turismo 4:
Come to find my Dad downstairs with the lights out involved in a huge marathon race 1000+ mile circuit, and this race took 99 laps, which translated into 3+ hours to get the whole thing done. That is dedication! He did the old, pause while in the pits to get dinner and other stuff trick, you know the kind where you leave the console on but switch the TV back on and your mom asks why the TV is all fuzzy.

[The lights needed to be off for total concentration]
So I hung around and watched for a bit, silently since I did not want to ruin the seriousness of the moment, 90+ laps in hand and the last thing you would need is for some stupid noise to distract you and cause you the race at this point. So I made sure to just watch, hoping that the eyes on the screen wouldn't add to the weight of the pressure. It's one thing if you screw up on your own, but when you screw up in front of people that is just horrible.
[Lap 94/99]
Well I shot a question in when it looked like he lapped someone, and the closest car behind was 7 LAPS BACK! OK the questions were safe to ask, and there was actually no pressure at all. Found out that this race isn't the longest in the game, and there is a 24 hour race! Absurd!! There is so much detail in GT 4 with the setup of the car, tires, weight distribution, shocks, brakes, parts, all kinds of good stuff for car nuts. Well the one oversight according to my dad is that the computer has to pit every 25 laps, but you have to pit every 5!! Think about that, if you have to pit every 5 laps to their 25, they have a HUGE advantage 5x over on you! Mainly due to the tires, they just don't last as well as the computer's tires do.
[Lap 99/99 1st place finish]
Dad: 1st Place, won by 8 laps!
Still not done the circuit, and he is only 49% of the way through the game with 113 cars in stock (won 125). Sony talks about the PlayStation 2 as a 10 year console. GT 4 seems like a 10 year GAME.
