Show Notes World 1 Level 13
Hey all! Thanks for listening to the show or downloading the podcast. The theme of this show was original soundtracks, and we featured some great soundtracks from recent games. As usual, everything featured on this show is available to download for free.
During the talking breaks I played some kirby remixes from VGMix. Not in keeping with the theme of the show, but still some great stuff. As I mentioned last week, VGMix is definitely an underrated site and is a great place to get some remixes. Look for more from VGMix in the future.
Up first I played some selections from "World of Goo," a downloadable game for the Wii and PC. Composed by Kyle Gabler, the soundtrack is an interesting mix of orchestral, funk, and industrial. The game itself is certainly unique, with the player building structures out of goo.
Next I featured the excellent downloadable title "'Splosion Man." From Twisted Pixel, the developer behind "The Maw," "'Splosion Man" stars a science experiment whose sole purpose is to 'splode. The music is excellent, and is definitely worth checking out. Using the above link, click on "Free Stuff" then scroll down to find the music composed by Joshua Mosley and John DeBorde.
Then I featured some tracks from video game and movie composer Wilbert Roget. Last week I played a great Guild Wars remix he submitted to RemixThaSauce, and his original compositions are just as awesome. Be sure to visit his site for more tracks from his previous works.
Finally, we heard some fantastic music from the DS title, "Henry Hatsworth and the Puzzling Adventure." I could really go on and on about this game. Anytime you can play as a 19th-century British explorer with the ability to transform into a steampunk giant robot, you have a winner in my book. The music by Gene Rozenberg is excellent, and the entire soundtrack deserves a listen.
Check out the show live on Wednesdays from 7-9PM EST or via podcast! For updates follow justinj212 via Twitter or join "Radio Free Gamer" on Facebook! Please email radiofreegamer@gmail.com with requests or comments. Thanks!
