8bit Extravaganza Minisites:
WTF is a "mini-site"? Simply put, it's a site created from all the research that goes into an episode of the 8bit Extravaganza, usually for a series of shows. They are great if you are listening to a podcast, this way you can follow along on the minisite!
Shows

Hack N Slash Mini-site
The definition of Hack N Slash is explored in part 1, and the next episode of the 8bitX will dive into the side-scrolling classic Ninja Gaiden as well as the top-down view of Gauntlett. Don't miss the next episode of the 8bit Extravaganza!

Beat Em Up
In this 4 part series we started with the history of beat em ups, games such as Kung Fu Master and Renegade. From there we went into the explosion of Double Dragon and the sequel of Double Dragon II as well as discussing games like Bad Dudes, TMNT series, Battletoads, and many many more. Much more information on this 4 part series of shows, check out the podcast for all the fun!

Cheats & Glitches Mini-site
This topic was a fun one, as we discussed our favorite cheats and glitches in different video games. The Contra code, not Konami code since we all know it from Contra be honest, is also listed in all the games it is used in, and I really had no idea so many games used it! Check out the podcast for 30 lives!
Game Rage/Anger Meter Mini-site
What a fun bunch of shows this was. When the "computer is cheating" many times on your last life or at a pivotal point in the game pure unbridled frustration manifests itself in violence. We have an "Anger Meter" to rate such outbursts in profanity and controller shaking, throwing, pounding, or other destructive (but not too destructive) methods of coping with gamer rage. Enjoy.
Games we have never played Mini-site
So many games, so little time. It's something we say more and more it seems, and these games are those that eluded our hands for one reason or another. This set of shows is dedicated to those games which are classics in the minds of many, but unknown to our game consoles. These shows are dedicated to those games and at some point we will finally get around to playing them.
Holidays
Halloween
We here at the 8bit Extravaganza are some of the biggest fans of the "Big 3" Holidays that you will ever see. 2008 saw us tribute Halloween with a show and set of games that remind us of going out trick or treating ( AT NIGHT DAMMIT!!) and being scared to death of creepy noises in the house when your parents are gone. Who didn't sleep at night dreaming of Ghouls N' Ghosts or Castlevania, facing off against Dracula?? MUHAHAHAH Halloween Special!
Thanksgiving/Football Games
Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays for several reasons. One of those reasons is Football. I cannot imagine having turkey, stuffing (which one is the "in" stuffing?), all the feast's goodies without some sort of football game on TV. To tribute this wonderful tradition, we've taken our favorite football video games and jam packed them onto this site like a turkey full of stuffing. Pass the gravy, you better kick it here!
Xmas
The greatest holiday of all time, "the culmination of the entire kid year" according to Ralphie. The reason that any of us had any video games to begin with, Christmas deserves some kick-ass video games, and that is exactly what we have in store for you during this show. Jazz Jackrabbit is absolutely legendary when it comes time for Christmas, and we love the Holiday Hare 1995 game we were first exposed to on DOS.
Some classic movie moments as well that cannot be ignored since it's the Holiday season. Just thinking about it now and I cannot wait till the next 8bitXmas (cheesy I know haah) comes around and we go crazy once again to pay tribute to the greatest holiday ever!
Tribute Shows
Certain games or time of year bring out the nostalgia in us like no other. Well those games get their very own tribute show. Here are some of the sites we've created in tribute to those games.
Street Fighter II
Street Fighter II did not create the 1 on 1 fighting genre, it perfected it. Even to this day this game holds up as one of the all time classics when it comes to fighting games. There is no comparison with any game on any system. This game revitalized the arcade industry from certain death in the early 1990s, and put the console wars onto a whole different level. Round 1 Fight!
